NASHVILLE — “My life is one very large country song,” said LeAnn Rimes. “What I’ve lived in the last four years is country music at its finest.”
She was referring to the time she has spent as a staple in the tabloids, attacked from many quarters for not only leaving her husband, but for also breaking up another celebrity marriage. Ms. Rimes, though, has never had what you would call an ordinary life.
“Parking Lot Party,” the 4th single from Lee Brice’s latest studio release ‘Hard 2 Love,’ is exploding at radio. It’s the fastest start Lee has seen for a single yet, with 100 stations playing the song in its third week at radio. His previous three singles from ‘Hard 2 Love’ all reached number 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart including “I Drive Your Truck,” which was recently certified Gold and featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, Country Weekly and the front page of the Boston Herald.
When Rodney Atkins, a singer-songwriter who’s released six No. 1 singles, started playing music during high school in Cumberland Gap, Tenn., bluegrass, at least on the performance side of things, dominated the local music scene.
“I was just sitting on front porches playing guitar with friends,” Atkins said. “You learn two or three chords and the next thing you know you’re playing Marshall Tucker or Charlie Daniels songs. But it all sounded bluegrass.”
At first, Atkins was too shy to sing in front of people.
WYNONNA JUDD SINGS "I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS" ON DANCING WITH THE STARS FINALE
Wynonna Judd may not have made it to the Final Four on Dancing With the Stars 2013, but she stole the show during the finale. The country singer made her triumphant return by singing Foreigner’s classic song “I Want to Know What Love Is,” accompanied by her pro partner Tony Dovolani as he danced with Peta Murgatroyd to the powerful rock ballad.
After several years of intense scrutiny for highly publicized personal matters, LeAnn Rimes opens up in impressive fashion on her revealing new album, Spitfire. Due in stores June 4, Spitfire is easily the 30-year-old singer/songwriter’s most personal project to date as she directly addresses the firestorm of emotions surrounding her affair, divorce from first husband Dean Sheremet and subsequent marriage to Eddie Cibrian.
