June 8th, 2012 - Johnny Sauter earned the fifth victory of his career at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night driving the No. 13 Hot Honeys Peanuts/Curb Records Toyota Tundra. Taking advantage of a late restart, Sauter was able to power through the field and position himself in second place behind teammate Matt Crafton. On Lap 146 of 167, Sauter passed Crafton for the lead and the win.

May 21st, 2012 - The Freedom Festival is excited to announce country music artist Jo Dee Messina will take the stage at Kirkwood Community College, Saturday, June 30, thanks to our sponsors Hy-Vee, KHAK, KCRG and The Gazette! She will be performing with The Hailey Whitters Band as her opening act.

The gates will open at 5:00 PM, and Jo Dee Messina is scheduled to hit the stage around 8:00 PM. Please feel free to bring your own chair or blankets to spread out and enjoy the night. A FREE fireworks display will immediately follow the concert.
