Hart and Wife Anticipating Birth of First Child This December

Curb Records riser Kelsey Hart releases a relatable ode to hardworking dads everywhere with his first Christmas song, “Santa Had A Rough Year,” available today (10/24) — listen HERE.

Hart assumes the role of a father who tries to give his kids the Christmas they deserve on this wistful and heartwarming cover. When the double shifts aren’t enough and the money doesn’t add up, he’s haunted by what is sure to be the disappointed faces of his children come Christmas morning. Written by Andrew Peebles, Colton Venner, Jaida Dreyer and Lauren McLamb; and produced by Blake Bollinger, “Santa Had A Rough Year” highlights the harsh realities of life during what should be the most wonderful time of the year. The melancholy track arrives ahead of the birth of Hart’s own first child, due in December. Check out the pregnancy announcement HERE.

The Kentucky native’s debut holiday offering follows recent releases, including wistful original “Something That You’d Miss” and his new incendiary radio single, “Fireworks.” Earlier this year, Hart dropped searing breakup anthem “I Went to the Bar,” as well as propulsive, hard-hitting heart-wrecker “Gone With the Wind.” Meanwhile, his duet with labelmate Harper Grace, “Freedom,” ascended the charts at AC and Hot AC. His streak of new music offers the first taste of his follow-up to his buzzworthy debut, Life With You.
