Atkins to Perform Today (1/28) on TODAY with HODA & JENNA

Nashville, Tenn. (January 28, 2021) – Curb Records recording artist Rodney Atkins is sharing his unique take on the classic ’80s country hit, “A Little Good News.” Atkins is also set to perform the track this morning (1/28) on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna. “A Little Good News” is now available HERE.

As COVID-19 took over the world and civil unrest became a daily reality early last year, Atkins was haunted by the lyrics to “A Little Good News,” which earned Anne Murray a GRAMMY® Award for “Best Country Song” back in 1983. “I decided to record it when the pandemic hit in early Spring of 2020 and kept hitting stumbling blocks. My wife, Rose, refused to let me give up on it, saying people really need to hear it,” Atkins shares of the process of recording the song at home. “I pray it will lift up the heavy hearts this last year has affected and remind us that this country and this world have been through hell before, and by the grace of God, we will get through ALL of this now…together…stronger.”

Atkins released his official music video for “A Little Good News” on Jan. 9. The video includes devastating footage from recent events throughout 2020, including the Nashville bombing that took place on Christmas morning. It also features the smiling faces of Atkins’ two youngest sons. Within the first six hours of release, the video accumulated thousands of views, likes, and shares. Those numbers have since grown to over half a million views. Watch the video HERE.
