Collaborative EP, At The End Of The River, To Arrive 2/17 In Celebration of Black History Month

Nashville, Tenn. (February 3, 2023) — Sidewalk Records recording artist Wyn Starks welcomes the Fisk Jubilee Singers on a new version of “Dancing My Way,” a first taste of the upcoming collaborative EP, At The End Of The River, releasing Feb. 17. Imbued with the energy of a Sunday morning tent revival, the song isn’t just a call to the dance floor; it’s also a call to church. Listen to the track HERE.

“There are moments that remind me of gospel artists like Kirk Franklin and John P. Kee,” says Starks, who collaborated with Dr. Kwami — the Fisk Jubilee Singers’ longtime music director, who passed away several months after At The End Of The River’s recording sessions — of the song’s buoyant arrangement.

Beginning his journey with the Fisk Jubilee Singers last summer, Starks released a reimagined version of his gospel ballad “Sparrow.” Featuring gorgeous vocal harmonies from the iconic group, the song nodded not only to the Fisk Jubilee Singers’ rich history of performing African American spirituals, but also Starks’ own history as a Minneapolis native who grew up singing solos in his hometown church.

“Dancing My Way (feat. Fisk Jubilee Singers)” and “Sparrow” are available HERE.

Fans can expect more releases from upcoming EP, At The End Of The River, over the next few weeks, with the entire project releasing Feb. 17.
